Efficacy of Glucosamine

Glucosamine tablets are a beneficial supplement that have been shown to help alleviate joint inflammation, promote healthy wound healing, and stimulate new collagen and cartilage.

Glucosamine sulphate helps produce a variety of natural chemicals that play an important role in strengthening ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and cushion fluid around joints. It is oftentimes derived from the shellfish.

For some individuals with osteoarthritis, the fluid around the joint becomes thin and weak, which causes major aches and pains. Researchers believe that supplementing with a glucosamine tablet may help increase joint fluid and promote ideal joint mobility.

Glucosamine Used For Joint Health

A glucosamine study was conducted with 318 patients with symptoms of knee osteoarthritis during a 6-month treatment course. Researchers were able to determine that an oral, once-daily dosage of 1,500 mg of glucosamine sulphate was more effective than placebo in assisting with knee discomfort(1), making it an effective therapeutic alternative that may improve joint fluid, as well as cartilage production.
